Dye garden at Mahoe Hills
We will start the day by collecting our plant materials from the Mahoe Hill gardens. Some dried materials such as onion skins will be used as well.
You will learn how to prepare mordants, dye baths and a variety of eco-dyeing techniques.
Cost for 1 day eco-dyeing workshop $120
Includes all materials for sample pieces and a cushion cover. It is possible to bring some additional pieces of fabric and a recycled t-shirt. It depends on the number of people and space in the dye pot how many extra items you can dye. Silk and merino scarves are not included in the price and you can bring your own and we sell them here. Morning tea, afternoon tea and a vegetarian lunch are provided.

Eco-dye day with visitors from UK, France and NZ
This workshop is also available on request and dye-techniques can be tailored to the interests of your group. Additional to using dye baths we can also make eco-paint and apply other printing techniques.
