You will learn how to use a variety of accessible garden plants to create wonderful colours and patterns on fabric. We will be dyeing wool, alpaca fibre and natural fabrics.
The intermediate/advanced workshop is suitable for students who have some previous felting experience and would like to expand their knowledge and learn new techniques. You will create a more technical item using templates to create three dimensional felt pieces, including layering and inlay techniques along with incorporating other materials such as beads, threads and/or found items.
In the beginner’s workshop students will learn the basics of wet felting. The main materials used are wool, alpaca fibre and a variety of recycled fabrics. We will also look at other techniques such as nuno and dry needle felting. You will make a small felted bag in your materials and colours of choice. We will also make some beads and buttons that can be used in a variety of ways.
